Can you successfully grow a crab apple tree in a pot?

Don't see why not, as you can grow full-sized apples in pots. Wouldn't it be nicer to have a proper apple tree though?

Yeah, you can get dwarf varieties. Pot probably needs to be about 50cm. I've been thinking about growing some myself for crabapple wine.

Yes. I have several trees at several stages of maturity in pots. The most successful was bought as a dwarf variety and gives a good crop. Enough for a batch of crab apple jelly. The others are not mature enough to produce apples but I'm hopeful they will in due course.
