Rust/rot but I think rust takes hold far quicker than rot in wood and is difficult to maintain, whereas you can replace the rotten timber in sheds (and protect against it int he first place)
Metal ones get hot so you don't really want to be spending time in them.

That's the two things I can think of!

Admittedly I haven't done much research, but I've never seen a metal shed. Do you mean those tool stores that hold all your paraphernalia but aren't big enough to stand/work in? If you are able to get a metal shed, I guess another difference may be aesthetics - if the shed is going to be close to your house or very visible from it, a wooden shed which you can paint may be preferable.

We had a metal shed. The main pro is zero maintenance, unlike timber. We were warned that you could get more condensation than in wood because they don't "breathe" in the same way, and if you are planning on storing fabric items that might be a problem, but we never found it an issue for all our DIY/gardening things. Ours was made by Trimetals and it looked fab - really smart and discrete.

No, as the air would circulate round a bike it wouldn't be a problem (that company even makes metal bike stores).

I've learned something! Thanks for the link to metal sheds - I'm now rethinking my shed plans ....
