Does anyone know what these two trees are? Want to cut down the one on the right but want to keep the tall fluffy light green one - bit worried it is a leylandii and it's already only just at the height where I can manage cutting it back etc.

Tree id help please!

Monterey Cypress?

And a Mediterranean one maybe?

The bushy one with yellowish leaves is lonicera nitida which is often used as a hedging shrub and you can cut it back hard. It will regrow quite readily. The tall conifer is not a leylandii, and you can reduce the length of the branches as long as you still leave some greenery on them.

Oh, I missed the very narrow dark thin one. That could be an Italian cypress, and will stay tall and narrow. You could always take the top out and leave another branch to regrow. They do have a habit of going a bit sideways in the wind otherwise. Can you take a picture of it a bit more close up, as it could be something else (taxus fastigiata), but you can't see the foliage on the picture very well. You can prune them no problem.

Delighted it's not a leylandii - Monterey cypress is a good call. Thanks for shrub id as well. There's two of these but I'm going to take them out to make space for fruit trees as it's that or lose the holly tree.

You can chop the lonicera right back down to a 6" stump and prune to keep it as a small topiary bush. No need to take out.

@Yamadori if I cut the top of the conifer back a bit will this stop it going up at all or just slow it a bit? Its current height is good but wouldn't want more than another couple of feet at the most.

You could do that, best to remove the branch entirely rather than leave a stump with no foliage on it though.
