The second is ragwort a wild flower or weed depending on what your preference is. Not sure about the first one

It looks like " millepertuis" or St John's Wort ?

Thank you. Maybe, we have a bush in front garden but leaves seem shinier on that. Will compare tomorrow.

isn't ragwort invasive?

I'd pull up the ragwort myself, unless you like it or want more of it. ;)

First one is Evening Primrose.
Agree second one is Ragwort.

Lacitlyana · 27/07/2025 20:45

Ragwort is great for caterpillars though.

Not so good for horses.

"It is a weed that commonly grows on road verges and some pastures. It contains a toxin, pyrrolizidine alkaloid which makes Ragwort one of the most common causes of poisoning in horses in the UK due to its widespread nature."

Fortunately no horses on my garden! But will pull them up as found another. The stems are different on the first one to St Johns Wort so Evening Primrose it us. Thanks all.

Ragwort is one of the few plants the cinnabar moth can eat. They are beautiful, and their caterpillars look like they have little pyjamas on.
