Hi I have these Shasta Daisys. They grow so so tall but I don't know why. They get direct sun, no competition . The soil is clay so maybe that's why.

Is there anything I can do to get them to grow up right?

I've tried plant support but that just makes them grow taller and flop over even more so I didn't bother this year and they found a little shrub to lean on.

They seem happy to be fair but that patch near the roots looks unsightly .

What would you do?

I’d remove the front row and plant lavender or Erigeron to cover the view of the base.

They can get fairly tall, so maybe in the autumn you could dig them up, move them further back and plant something shrubby in front of them.

You can get plant supports that are like an upside-down tepee. They are designed to prop up taller, floppy border plants, so maybe try one of those next year.

Thanks so much I'll try doing both . the bigger supports and a shrub or some lavendar at the front .
