Rose recommendation based on this criteria

I was hoping some of the wonderful people on the gardening board could help a clueless garden newbie out.
my mum has a rose in her garden which I’m fairly certain was there when she purchased her house nearly 30 years ago.
It is about 4/5 ft high, but I don’t think it is a “climber”, just seems to support itself.
It has big flowers probably slightly bigger than a saucer, the flowers are pink but not pale pink or dark pink/fuschia coloured, it’s between those. Its fragrance is heavenly.
i visited today but stupidly forgot to take a photo to post. I would very much like to have a few roses fitting this description in my garden as they remind me of my long-gone grandparents who had beautiful big, scented roses all around their garden, they remind me of a time I felt happy and safe in life.

if anyone has any recommendations or ideas on what variety this may be I would be very greatful.

Take a look at David Austin and Peter Beale. There may be something really similar. You can filter by size and fragrance too.

Google Constance Spry rose - could it be that?? It's always been very popular. Peace and Ena Harkness are also classics which have been popular down the ages but don't fit your criteria. Is it an old fashioned rose, round with lots of petals or is it a tea rose which has sort of 'spikey' shaped petals?

Came on say David Austin roses too. Quite expensive but fantastic choice and they really are worth it.

If you look at a few David Austin shrub roses they are amazing. From you description I would look at Gabriel Oak and Princess Anne (darker brighter pink and GO has a stunning smell), princess alexandra of Kent, maybe gentle hermione but she is paler pink, Boscobel is more of a coral pink. Olivia Rose Austin is also paler. I’ll think of some more in a bit but their website is fab too.

good morning, thank you to all who replied- lots of suggestions so much more then I had expected.
I had a look at some of the names you had suggested and they are beautiful roses but fairly sure they are not the one I have tried to find (but I will probably buy one or two anyway)
DBro is up early and at my mother’s this morning to help her with some things and has just sent me some snaps of the roses as I asked him to.
I tried to use the google picture IDlens on my phone to ID the rose and it came up with China rose or Damask, I have attached the pictures here in case anyone would like to have a look and maybe confirm if the ID is correct.
Thank you again for all your help.

If you want exactly the same rose, and have some patience, the best thing to do would be to take a cutting tbh. There are so so many varieties of rose that the chances of someone being able to pinpoint the exact one is slim (unless a very obvious popular variety)

I have a gorgeous rose in my current house. I've planted some cuttings to take with me when I go as it's just perfect. They aren't particularly difficult to do

Hi Butterflyfern, this is a good suggestion and I would be able to wait for cuttings to do their thing. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon one hopes 😅
