Alternative to Salvia Amistad

Our garden was given a bit of a makeover a couple of years ago and among the planting were some Salvia Amistad. I love the height, the colour and the late flowering but unfortunately they just don’t seem to survive the winter. Does anyone have any ideas on a plant with similar qualities but just a little more hardy ?

Strobilathes atropurprea. Looks like a salvia, flowers late summer but comes from the Himalayas and is really hardy. I'm always asked for the name of that 'lovely salvia' when we're open to the public.

Thank you so much @Bideshithats lovely and seems like it will survive the winter too !

Salvia Carradonna? Purple flowers with height and fully hardy I think.

What about Verbena Officianalis Bampton? The foliage is a lovely dark purple too.
Or Verbena Bonariensis? That definitely has the height.
Bronze Fennel gets tall & is lovely & wispy, plus you can use/eat the seeds.

Thank you @dairydebris@APurpleSquirrelthese are some lovely suggestions. The Carradonna is fairly similar to the Agastache Black Adder we have (assuming winter hadn’t killed it) but the Verbena Officianalis Bampton could work well too. We have a lot of Verbena Bonariensis currently which self seeds itself everywhere.

How about a Veronica. Loads of lovely spiky flowers and very undemanding, as long as you dead head.

Thank you @Beebumble2. Another lovely suggestion.
