Orange spots on new rose

I just recieved this queen of sweden rose from David Austin at the start if this month and planted into the ground last week. I noticed today many of the leaves have orange spots. What should I do? It's my first purchase with DA, should I contact them?

DA’s customer services are very helpful if you want to try them, It could be rust, which is fungal. You don’t have to spray though, neem oil and good hygiene with affected leaves can shift it.

eta have you sprayed nearby? Looks a little bit like an overspray pattern, hard to tell really on my screen.

It's on most of the leaves so I don't want to remove them all. I did follow all the instructions when planting it so not sure what has happened in such a short time.

Looks like rust to me, but someone who knows better may have a different explanation.

Fungal rose diseases spread quickly. If you remove the affected leaves, feed and water as normal, the plant will bounce back. If you leave the leaves (and if it is rust) it will just get worse. Make sure there is no leaf debris round the bottom of the plant, and don’t touch healthy bits after touching the spotted leaves- that includes secateurs etc which need to be disinfected.

I have quite a few roses and they’re pretty bombproof, you can treat them harshly and they spring right back.

Thank you. Is it bad if I ask DA for a replacement? I really saved up for this rose and its my first purchase. After all the raving reviews I was hoping for a healthier rose. It's not even been a month since I have recieved it. The rust is on almost every leaf.

I wouldn't think that they will replace. The plant has a common rust fungal infection which will have come from the environment. You can't expect the supplier to be responsible for something that happened in your garden.
Just do as others advised and cut off infected leaves. They will grow back soon enough.
That's just part of gardening I'm afraid. You will get plants with all kinds of bugs and infections. It is just a case of learning to recognise and treat appropriately.

Thank you
DA have advised on what to do which also includes to remove the infected leaves but that is most of them.

Just as a note of caution, rose leaves rarely look entirely glossy picture perfect unless you spray with stuff that kills off garden insects. Fungal infections need help to stop spread, but most things like greenfly are transient and of no real consequence.

It will soon come back, they grow fast this time of year. If you leave infected leaves it will just cycle. Be brave, it will be fine.

It will come back quickly. I cut a rose back to a couple of inches above ground a few weeks ago and it is sprouting plenty of new growth.

I have cut back as navy spotted leaves as I could see but il have another look tomorrow incase I have missed any. DA recommended a spray so I will order that.
Thank you all for the help

I have ordered rose clear which is highly recommended online. I'm hoping that will help.
