Found some daffodil bulbs

I was clearing out the shed today and found some daffodil bulbs. What should I do? Plant them now and hope they grow for next year, or hold onto them till autumn?

No point planting them now!

Plant them in October. Smile

(Keep them in a box, in a dark place, so they don't try and sprout and go all funny! 😬)

Throw them on the soil or grass wherever you want them to go and forget about them.

I forgot and simply threw 2 full sprouting bags onto our grass verge in late Feb last year as I completely ran out of time to do anything.

They weren’t covered in soil in any way. This year we have a huge full border of daffodils so they’re clearly not very fussy plants.

@pinkfloralcurtainsinteresting. You didn’t put them actually in the soil? @BatchCookBabeI’m not expecting them to grow at this point in the year but they have attempted some pathetic sprouting so I wasn’t sure if they would last until autumn. You reckon they might be ok despite the sprouting?

Nope. Just threw them on the verge. It was either that or throw them in the compost bin.

Bulbs are live plants so storing them any longer isn’t really an option. If the bulbs aren’t squashy then plant them. They may not flower this year, or if they do they might have very short stems and flower late. If they are very soft then compost them.
