Hardy climbers - what to plant

Hi MN,
Looking for some advice about what type of climber I should get. I’m would like something to cover a trellis but it’s in an area that is very exposed to the weather.
I have previously (unsuccessfully) planted jasmine. Are there any varieties of this that are less prone to the effects of weather or should I be looking for a different type altogether? Any recommendations of something similar would be much appreciated, even better if it looks good all year round:)

I recommend the rose Banksaei Lutea. It grows absolutely like crazy and is thornless so easy to train. It has masses of scented flowers from early April.

Clematis Alpina. Spring flowering but sometimes get a second flush in summer. Hardy and fine in exposed areas. No pruning required.

Flowers are much smaller than usual clematis but still in abundance and mine looks lovely in April wreathed in flowers.

I think a rambling rose would work well . One that doesn’t mind shade and wind is Félicité-Perpétue by David Austin. It grows quickly as well so good for coverage.

Once it gets going you good grow a clematis through it as well to get double flowers.

Clematis are great for growing through other climbers. Roses are indestructible. You can either get ones that flower at the same time (so you get a mix of flowers) or go for a winter flowering clematis that will flower when the rose is not flowering.
