In SE England taken today. It's got twisty stems climbing up a trellis in semi-shade. Photo incoming.

Can anyone ID this please?

Hi, it looks like what we would call a Russian Vine. If it's that, it is an invasive weed. Not unattractive to look at, with big white bell flowers in summer, but it strangles other plants because it twists around them.

squashyhat · 21/03/2025 11:52

No it's not that. The leaves are completely different.

Not sure but could it be Jasmine beesianium? It's pretty rampant even in part shade.

DownWithTrump · 21/03/2025 12:01

I'd guess jasmine too.

Google lens says Himalayan honeysuckle.

it has lovely crimson bracts which florists like.

Is not a climber. The leaves are very different too.

HarryVanderspeigle · 21/03/2025 13:27

Picture this says common cow wheat. Which isn't a climber, so doesn't sound right. Do you have a picture in situ?

Pinkywoo · 21/03/2025 14:23

I'd also guess jasmine beesianum

Agoddessonamountaintop · 21/03/2025 14:28

Yes, in situ picture would be goid. The one in the op is too vague.

marsaline · 21/03/2025 14:30

Without meaning to sound too rude particularly since this is gardening and not AIBU, but why on earth do people respond when they don’t know but have just used an app. Some of these responses are just ridiculous.

Pinkywoo · 21/03/2025 16:59

This is jasmine beesianum, does that look like right OP?

Thanks for those posts that were helpful. Having looked at some pix I do think it's some sort of jasmine.
