Is there a Pot Gang group?

Tried searching for pot gang on here (admittedly very quickly due to a Velcro toddler) and couldn’t find one so I wondered if anyone wanted to chat along each month?

We potted on our courgettes yesterday and I am quite suprised I’ve managed to keep them alive this long! I think it helps we have them on the living room window currently so I see them every day and it reminds me they need water. Maybe when I move them outside they will meet their end.

February was our first box so I don’t have any other jobs to do now other than wait for our March box to arrive.

I can’t keep any plants alive but so far mine are all doing well, the April box will be my third box. Honestly if I can do it anyone can!

When are people starting to leave any outside? With the milder weather I was thinking about starting to put my cucamelon and courgettes outside....

My courgettes have been in an unheated greenhouse for a week and have been ok. I moved one outside yesterday and kept two in until I see if it survives. I moved the tomatoes to the greenhouse yesterday

How are everyone’s pots going on?

My tomatoes are looking ok but my courgette flowers seem to be dying and only one of three plants is fruiting :(

aprils thyme and tomato seeds seem very slow to get going too.

On the bright side though - we got a pizza oven for my birthday and the basil pot has been used a fair few times :)

I’ve just spent a couple of hours sorting my pots!!! I ended up being away and had to start some again. My spring onions did nothing but I have a few of everything else. My courgettes aren’t that big yet as had to sow some more. I’m running out of space on my windowsill as I’m a bit nervous to leave them out at night.
the cucumelons still look tiny but are hanging on.
I seem to have loads of tomatoes.
i ve put all my pots outside today so i hope they appreciate the sun!!!
thought i better get organised today as i think another pot is on its way.

Pot Gang is the biggest scam box I’ve ever seen! They send you 10p worth of seeds (not an exaggeration they buy them in bulk for next to nothing), coir discs which again, in bulk cost pennies and cheap pots which yep, you guessed it, cost PENNIES! Then charge a ridiculous amount.
All you need to do is google what can be sown that month, buy the seeds from amazon (for about £1-2 for 3 years worth!), a small bag of compost and a pack of cheap pots. Done at less than half the price.

I’ve had a few boxes and it has motivated me to get started but not sure I will carry on. It was a gift.

Edited

I intend to do one seasons worth because I find the guides the send incredibly useful and the YouTube videos. Also you can ask questions on WhatsApp etc

when I have done a years worth and know what I am doing then I will probably do it myself.

plus my children love receiving the box and opening it up - I think getting kids into gardening is great

As a very very novice gardener, I can highly recommend growing tomatoes by planting a slice of tomato in a pot, covering it with a bit of earth, place it in a sunny place and keep it watered. You’ll get a tomato plant growing in no time.
