Tomato seedlings

I started these off in a dark, warm cupboard five days ago and was surprised that they germinated so quickly.
I’ve now put them out in the light but they are quite leggy and I wonder if they will thrive or should I start again?

I’d put them in the light to see if they green up and thicken up

Sorry but I’d start again. They don’t need to be in the dark.

The warm cupboard just happens to be in the dark. Previously, I’ve caught them just as they germinated and transferred them to the light. I didn’t expect them to sprout so quickly this time.

Start again

Another vote for starting again.

Agree start again, but if you ever catch any at the 'leggy but not collapsing noodles' stage, repotting them up to the 'armpits' (my very technical name for the top of the stem before the seed leaves) helps grow sturdy plants. I do that every time I put them in a larger pot.

I feel awful chucking anything I’ve grown so I’d bury up to the stems like PP. Tomatoes can send more roots out of their stems afaik, and stabilise that way.

I’ve repotted a few small ones and chucked the really leggy ones of which I’ve started over with new seeds I’ll make sure to check the cupboard daily!
