Fuschia - should I be worried?

I have a whole bunch of Fuschia that I uncovered from underneath a pile of brambles when we first moved in a few years ago, so I've no idea how long this has been going on, but each year in late winter one of them does this. Can anyone explain!

I'm no expert on fuchsias, but the picture looks like it might be either a virus or a pest causing the distorted growth, so I wonder if it could it be fuchsia gall mite?

Do you prune it? Chop it right back

I do prune them all, every year. It's only on this one plant that it happens and hasn't ever spread to the other ones.Confused

If it’s only late winter and it still looks good the rest of the year it’s gonna be fine, they are deciduous

That's definitely fuchsia gall mite. It's endemic in the South and spreading North. Fuchsias do seem to be able to live with it after an initial infection. The microscopic mites live in the tips of shoots so hard pruning can help control an infection. Don't compost the prunings, garden waste bin will be ok. Clean your secateurs before pruning anything else. Clear away and fallen leaves from around the plant.

Thank-you!

I wonder why it's never spread to the others?
