But it's 5.5K which is ridiculous.

Where can I buy a decent shed? Went to my local garden centre and their cheapest one is crap and 1.2k

Have a look at large children's wooden play houses. You will be surprised on the price difference.

I did but unless I'm 3ft tall I couldn't get in the door!

Don't! I can't find anything similar. I've asked a local company and they quoted £1500 but with Perspex windows and a felt roof, I don't want bloody Perspex or felt. But I don't think it'll be too hard to tweak it. We shall see. I have no idea why it's 5.5k, I feel they ought to give it to me as a customer tester.

It will give you pleasure every single day. What's that on a cost per wear basis? Plus it will double as a home office if needed.

For full disclosure, I spent an even more ridiculous amount on a garden office about 20 years ago now and I haven't regretted it for a single minute. Because it was such a good build it has been able to fulfil many functions over the years changing as my life has changed. If you can afford it I would absolutely go for it..

I've had quote from a local shed maker. Exact spec £3k I mean it's still a shed but I'm tempted!

£5.5k?!?! Just because it has windows that open?!?!?!?!

Takes my breath away

I had a look at the spec and it is a fully insulated potting shed so not just a basic shed. Not saying it's worth £5.5k but it goes some way to explain why it's not closer to £500.

That is a beauty. Have a look at Atlas Sheds, we got ours from there. Great quality and amazing service from them.

Have you tried a joiner as opposed to an actual shed maker/company @WildFlowerBees ? I had a joiner build one about five times the size of the one in your OP and it was a lot less than that. This was about 20 years ago though and the price of materials has rocketed in recent years. It would still be worth asking if you know any reliable joiners. Good luck.

As the owner of a shed I use as my studio - what do you want to use the shed for ? If it's the store the lanwmower than a cheap and cheerful from B&Q, painted a nice soft shade of green would be fine. However if you're looking to use the shed as an office, studio, quiet room then you will need insulation and a good solid floor, and that's going to cost.

BTW - my modestly sized shed with a concrete base, power and water cost £14k, all built for me, over 10 years ago. So check what the £5.5k will include
