Has my aeonium had it?

Any succulents experts around?

It was in the greenhouse, which I thought would enough, but it's clearly been hit be the few really cold nights we had.

I've moved it somewhere warmer but does it have any chance at all of recovery?

Has my aeonium had it?

Doesn't look happy, does it? If it didn't freeze it might pull through, I suppose.

I didn't bring in my Aeonium Schwarzkopf from the garden in time this year, it definately got some frost and despite me talking to it encouragingly and keeping it in my nice warm kitchen I think it's gone 😥.
I've got tons of aeonium balsamiferum plants if you'd like me to post you a couple of cuttings - they take root and grow like weeds.

Aeoniums really don’t like very cold weather, so it might be a goner I’m afraid. Wait and see if it comes back to life now it’s in a warmer spot.

I'd cut my losses. That's a goner.

A few years ago we had a 7-8 day freezing spot where I don't think the temp rise above zero. I lost so many plants in my (tiny, lean-to) greenhouse, despite having a paraffin frost busted on low, and even lost 20 year old clematis in the garden.

So now I have the paraffin heater, an electric greenhouse heater on a thermostat and bubble wrap over the top! I also have some cuttings of precious non-frost hardy plants both indoors on the windowsill and in the conservatory, for insurance, as it only takes one bitterly cold night when I forget to light the paraffin heater to spell disaster!

I'd take a cutting now and plant it in a pot indoors.

I think you have to let the stalk dry off for a couple of days before planting. Google what to do.

I would cut my losses on it in its current form, but don’t chuck it - just lop the tops off, keep it somewhere a bit warmer, and reckon it will grow back fine.

(I am bullish with aeoniums, regularly chop them and get good plants from both top and bottom. In fact, I’d probably let the top frozen bit callous off for a few days after I chopped it, then chuck that in a pot of compost and see what happens too.)

Thank you all!

I've had it three years, from a tiny floret, so I feel silly (and a bit guilty) for having exposed it to such a terrible demise. It did seem very easy to not kill grow though.

Re cuttings I was having a closer look and some of the ends look a bit perkier, so I'll definitely give that a go.

Ive also been looking at a website aeoniums and there are some quite exciting looking ones available. Every cloud...

I left mine out in the garden, looked at it yesterday and it's flopped over and looking sad. I suspect it's gone.
