Hi, this self seeded itself. I’d like to keep it if possible or at least know what is so I can get another one next year. It seems to like the location. Many thanks if you can help.

They don't propagate by self seeding but by rhizomes and little tuber things so you must have had a surprise one in the compost Smile

I think it is an oriental poppy. Very large seed head inside. Loved by bees. I have them in dark red.

Not an Oriental poppy, far too late in the year, definitely Anemone (coronaria).

They can be grown from seed, but easier from tubers.
