Broom in full sunlight?

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if Broom (spelling?) is happy in direct sunlight, little shade in the summer?

I want to put some outside the front of my house but it is a real sun trap out there.

Have seen it down on cliffs by the sea and it looks pretty happy there.

Would love some advice before I do the deed and plant...

It's a beautiful white flower - I certainly will enjoy!

I've never seen a white broom before. I can imagine it's really pretty. Does it smell as nice as yellow broom?

It likes sunshine. And when the flowers are gone you can listen to the seedpods popping for hours on end.

I'm not sure yet about the smell - it's still in bud - it's just about there though...
I thought white was unusual too - I see lots of yellow but never white.
