I've posted recently about planting next to some clematis. The choice was between Emily Brontë and Elizabeth, but when I went to the garden centre I got waylaid by a particularly lovely Olivia Rose Austin. It was a nicer pink in person than online photos showed, softer and less blue.

Does anyone have any experience of Olivia Rose Austin or the newer Elizabeth?

Thanks.

Olivia Rose Austin is extremely reliable in my garden. I planted it at the back of my garden, which is difficult to get to, in a patch of very poor & well drained soil. It’s pretty much grown in a state of neglect.

Nevertheless, it’s the first rose to flower and very floriferous. It’s formed a tidy shrub (never had to trim it), a bit bigger than the 1.10 m/ 3.5 feet suggested on the David Austin website. I can only imagine what it’d be like in some proper soil with some proper care!

I’ve got an Olivia Rose Austin, as @Festina mentions it very floriferous, one of the first to flower in my garden, and rarely without blooms once it gets going. The scent is lovely too. Mine has been in my garden for about three years and is one of the larger roses in my garden, definitely larger than the 3.5 foot they mention on the website, despite being pruned every winter. She’s such a joy though, I really don’t mind! When first planted the canes were a bit floppy, so I used a bit of gentle support, but as it’s matured the cane have firmed up a bit. It really is a lovely rose!
