My very precious rose cutting is dying! Please help!

For my dh's last birthday, I bought him a rose plant. Sadly, he died before he got to see any blooms on it but it really flourished.

Last year I moved house and the man I was using to help me around the garden took some cuttings for me. Only one of the cuttings took, and I planted it about a week ago.

It's dying and I don't know why! I've been watering it (but not over watering), and I've given it some rose and shrub miraclegro. Please can anyone suggest anything?

Oh dear.
I'm not an expert, but my guess is there's too much too for the amount of root it's got after being planted. It looks like there's one healthy set of leaves at the bottom. My guess is the rest is just putting a burden on the roots and that it'd be best to remove them - I don't think they'll recover.

You probably want to encourage root growth more than top growth till it's stronger, and don't have it waste energy on flower buds.

Yes, I would cut it above the healthy leaves.

I agree with the suggestion to cut it back. The plant will have less foliage to support and (fingers crossed) will become bushier. Don’t lose heart; my only successful rose cutting looked feeble for a couple of years and only really took off this year (which is year three or four, I don’t quite remember).

Thank you very much for the replies, I'll cut it back tomorrow and 🤞
