Any advice for reviving half dead pear trees please?

I work in supermarket and one of the perks is getting the old plants and flowers for free.
I felt very sorry for these pear trees that were stuck in our staff room for a week and didn't want them to die. I've given them water and they are outside so even if they don't make it they've had a last few happy days.

So now what? Should I repot them ASAP and how big a pot. What soil or compost , feed or don't feed. They have just had a good amount of rain water. Anyone had success reviving trees?

This is two of them. They look healthier in the photos 😬

Are they patio / dwarf pears? If so, I would pot them on in a larger container. If not, do you have a sunny spot to put them? Looks like they might be fan trained to be positioned against a wall?

pears like sun and good drainage, so as long as they aren’t water logged they should be pretty self sufficient.

No, regular pear trees. They will be in pots as my garden is too small. I'm hoping to give the other three away so they will need to be in pots.

I never know how big to buy them though. I'm worried they won't cope without the right care Andrea's conflicting things about feeding half dead plants.

How well did you water? A good hour or two soaking in a bucket of water to make sure the rootball is really wet?

Er no. Just watered well and then it rained last night and I've watered them this morning. It's been sunny all day so will give them more tonight. They are still in the original pots. I wanted them to adjust to being outside slowly.
Shall I repot quickly ?

Unless it is rootbound I can’t see any urgency in potting on, but a bigger that isn’t plastic would probably make it easier to keep it from drying out.

sticking it in a bucket of water for an hour is probably better than just watering if it hasn’t had much tlc, as ensures it soaks up as much as it needs.
