Yes.

A garden computer attaches to a garden tap and then some sprinkler or dripper outlets. Several types exist - they're not cheap. Hozelock example

The computer/ dripper system can be attached with a pump to a water butt like this So you could either run the whole thing indoors (small indoor water tank, with the same type of tap outlet as a water butt - the type that hose attachments can click onto), or run in through a hole in the wall or window left ajar.

Looks like hozelock do a complete water butt system here too now.

Snorkle - we are having to invest in something like that this summer as most of my neighbour/mummy friends will be away at the same time.

for POT PLANTS?

Yes warthog it's mostly used for containers (ie outdoors pot plants), but no real reason not to work for indoor ones that I can see. I have one a bit like the first example, but an older version that I picked up in a sale. I use it to water the pots on my patio and the pots in my conservatory (drilled a small hole in the wall specially for the hose).

I've yet to adapt it for the water butt, but as you can, the whole system should work inside off an 'indoor butt' (probably a camping water container with the correct tap on it).

Or here looks interesting. American site describes how they built a small indoor (office) irrigation system.

warthog · 06/04/2008 17:05

gosh... i could try the smaller one. thanks!
