They are normal shoots - do NOT remove them! Suckers grow from below the graft ( which is the knobbly lump just above the soil). The red will change over time to green like the other stems.
In the left hand picture, I see a dead stem on the far left, half way up the photo. That should be cut off with sharp secateurs.

Hi thank you so much for advice
did you mean the right hand picture for the dead stem?

Also do you know what type of rose bush this is. I was thinking it maybe a climbing rose?

Yes, at the front of the RH picture. Could be a vigorous hybrid tea or even floribunda - Queen Elizabeth will get to 6ft quite happily. What’s its overall growth like? Can you post a pic of the whole bush?

I think photos can show up in different order depending on browser vs apps. The dead stem is the brown diagonal one.

It's hard to tell the type from those photos, may be a climber but could be something else. Those new red stems look lovely and healthy.

Hi this is great news that it’s just new growth. There was meant to be a picture with that question. Sorry and thank you!
here is a picture

I cut it back earlier in the year but I left the long bit on the left but now think I should probably cut that back too?

there has been aphids which I’ve used a
water spray bottle to get rid of and the hose is there anything else I can do there is not many now as I have been trying to rid them everyday

one other problem where it has been tied to the fence there is ants could it be rubbing against the fence and they could be feeding on something what can I do about that is it bad?

It looks better in real life but I can see it definitely needs pruning into shape better haha

Sorry guys another question are the black spots on the Leafs from the aphids sucking on them? Or something else

OP posts:

The black spots are Black Spot.GrinI tend to ignore it, I think the advice is usually to remove and dispose of affected leaves.

It's a lovely rose! Your approach with aphids sounds good. I sometimes rub off particularly thick infeststions on buds with my fingers. If you leave some then hopefully you'll get natural predators such as ladybirds (and their odd-looking young)

The left branch looks like it wants to be a climber. What you may want to do is put p vine eyes and wire across the fence or insert a trellis behind (that might be tricky) and train the longer branches more horizontally. That should encourage more flowering.

Are you in the UK, op? Red Rosette disease isn't present in the UK,so one less thing to worry about.

Sorry, I meant the righthand photo. I am terrible with left and right.😔
