Cherry tree offshoots

Opinion/ knowledge needed - these look like seedlings that have come up beneath the cherry. Will pulling them up and re potting them damage the roots, will they be all entangled? And if they grow ok, will they fruit the same as the parent tree?

They are suckers, you need to pull them off if you can. If you can’t , cut them off as low as possible.

They are not seedling- which grow from seeds from your tree. They are coming from the roots.

Your cherry will almost certainly have been grafted n to a rootstock. These suckers will be coming from the rootstock and therefore will be genetically identical to the rootstock not to your cherry tree grated on it.

Ah thank you both. That makes sense - I have roses and they’re the same. They’ve got to go then!
