After a long day in the garden …

What is the drink that you enjoy as you sit back, relax and review your hard work?

In the past mine would be a G and T or a cosmopolitan

However, staying at my parents house they have a vodka martini to round off a day in the garden - I prefer a gin martini and a few olives so have now defected to the martini side

Both parents are in their mid 80s and so I reckon the martini is a safe bet 😂

I don't really drink [well I don't drink alcohol] and my favourites are an iced coffee or a pamplemousse and rose cordial over ice.

This sounds delicious on the rose cordial! Must try

Brilliant responses everyone - the gardening refreshment menu is getting longer

@MereDintofPandiculation - never tried milk and Ginger syrup- will add to the shopping list

@Revelatio - kindred spirit wherever you are - manchego and stuffed anchovies ❤️

@ThinkingAgainAndAgain - I am not a coffee fan but I did once make a Long Island ice tea … and woke up an hour later laid out on the grass ( to be fair I had started out on the grass) pure knock out drops

I will raise a glass to this tribe of people who clearly enjoy the good things in life 🍸🍓🌹

Pint of cider. Two if it's been a really long day.

A nice cup of tea. Nothing like it, even on a really hot day.

If there's some Victoria sponge cake available, all the better!

Crikey, I could barely drink half pint of anything. I do like a cider, got to be apples though, none of this weird berry stuff, and Somerset or cloudy, bit of strong cheese, crusty bread, pickle so much the better.

I like a cold beer, especially those little bottles that are about a half pint. When you leave it unattended in the garden it will immediately become a slug trap. Be warned!

@HazelTheGreenWitch - I like the idea of combining recreational drinking with truly completing a gardening job
Hello beer - goodbye slugs

Thank you for that picture of straining the slug trap for a post gardening drink.
