Easiest and quickest way to remove green algae type substance from fencing?

We have fencing that runs the length of each side of the garden, about 100 feet on total each side. There are borders in front of the fence, and most of the is covered in this green substance. The fence isn’t painted, it’s in scent enough condition each side but it looks ugly because of the green substance.

How do I get rid of it please? Obviously, I don’t want to kill the plants with the run off! I should have thought about it over the winter before everything had started growing again, but I’d like to make a start.

I usually spray mine with wet and forget. Best solution I’ve found.

Fantastic, thank you. I’ve not come across it, and it looks perfect.

Another one for Wet and Forget, so easy to use and it really works! Used it for the first time recently on a fence that was green , 2 days later all green gone.Truly fantastic!

This is so encouraging. I’ve bought a massive bottle and a sprayer. Quite excited to get going!

Definitely wet and forget

Don't get it on your plants.

Why not just pressure wash the fence to get the worst off, let it dry and then use a brown wood preserver. That covers the green up a treat.

Am I alone in quite liking the aged effect it gives 🫣

Wet and forget doesn't hurt plants. Makes sense to avoid directly spraying plants but a bit of drift or run off doesn't cause any damage.

It's brilliant stuff.

We've had great success with this stuff on our patio, and unlike wet and forget it doesn't harm pets or wildlife.

It actually says on the instructions to avoid wetting the plants, or at least to thoroughly wash it off.

I prefer a fence to look natural anyway, green bits and all.
