Is this thrips?! Help!

I’ve had issues with a monstera that used to be huge and beautiful and is now down to one last leaf 😭 (pictured)

I never tweaked what the issue might be but I think it’s thrips. Stupidly I assumed it was dust in the past (silly I know!!). Big issue is that now I think I’m seeing small signs of this on many of my other house plants too. I have about 20 ish. Another one is a baby monstera (also pictured) as well as zz plants, pothos, peace lilies etc.

I’ve done a bit of online research but to be honest I’m getting a little overwhelmed with all the info and a bit unsure the best plan of attack. I believe I’ll need to hit the leaves but also the soil for long term eradication.

I have a 3 year old in the house so am weary of using unsafe pesticides although most of the plants are out of reach and she’s very good with the ones that aren’t.

Has anyone had to do this themselves too and have any tips on how to tackle it? I have a free afternoon tomorrow to hit all the plants and can either get next day products for Amazon or maybe head out to local nursery (although hit and miss to what they might have in stock).

Any help really appreciated! I love my houseplants but have never had to deal with this before.

It's hard to tell to be honest. They might just need a feed and a spray in the bath.

But if you've found sticky stuff on them I found the best way of dealing with pests like that was spraying with soapy water, you have to do it fairly regularly and leave the soapy water on. You have to get in all the nooks and crannies. Ones that were too far gone I just bit the bullet and binned apart from one I loved that I put in isolation and sprayed all the time and picked anything off them.

I also put them in the bath with the pots wrapped in a carrier bag and use the shower attachment to get dust off them.

@BarrelOfOtters thank you. I’ve ended up settling on a similar process. Just got some horticultural soap and will be spraying and soaping down the leaves to hopefully get them all out.

Good shout on covering the pots with a plastic bag. I was concerned about overwatering as a result.

Thankfully I also ended up stumbling on some compelling info that suggested getting some beneficial predators to take care of any leftovers after and it’s just a handy sachet with a slow release colony so fingers crossed that will do the trick!
