When will I know if my Salvia Amistad have made it through winter?

I planted some lovely Salvia Amistad in my garden last summer which flowered their socks off. I mulched them in the autumn and crossed my fingers. When will I know if they've made it though winter? The rest of my garden is springing to life but the salvia are still looking very dormant and sad currently! Its not been particularly cold where I am this winter, but it has been incredibly wet.

Fingers crossed for you

I've lost 2 of these gorgeous plants in 2 consecutive years

Thank you @HelloMiss! Yes I enjoyed them so much last year, and they seemed to flower forever! But they got so enormous I didn’t fancy trying to dig them up and wrestle them into pots- they were bigger than me!

I've got no signs of life in any of my Amistads yet. The Canna lilies I left in the ground are coming back and so are every other salvia so hopefully Amistad is just going to be slow to revive

I find they come up very late - it’s often May when I suddenly see some (slightly slug munched) greenery peeping up. Last year I lifted mine and have overwintered them in the greenhouse and even in there have no signs of life yet. I believe Monty Don has the same trouble so we;re in good company.

@creeashun and @olderbutwiser that’s very reassuring, thank you! It sounds like they could just be taking their sweet time!
