I am beyond excited.
Been on the waiting list for a couple of years.
Meeting the chap who is going to give me my keys and show me around.
Any advice to a first time allotmenter

Whilst I agree about planting things in rows facing the sun, if you are planting runner beans or anything tall on a row supported with canes they are better end on to the prevailing wind to reduce the risk of them blowing over in strong winds, which is side-on to the sun on our plots. I didn't realise this for a few years and wondered why it was always my runner beans that blew over and not other people's.

Went back for a proper look and poke around.
raining and cold so couldn't do much.
The shed and raised beds are in better condition than I initially thought and just need a bit of TLC.
Theres a bit of junk to clear in the shed but the previous tenants have left a fair bit of useful stuff.
No if it would JUST STOP RAINING for five minutes I could get cracking😂

It’s my first year too! Mine is tiny, but that’s more than ok with me.
I got some potatoes for chitting from Suttons, potatoes, salad and herbs are the main things I’m interested in this year.
I also ordered peonies roots, because I really really like them. And I’m looking for some dahlias too.
Good luck!
