Reviving used soil

Hi guys this might seem like a silly question but here goes -
I have a small raised bed and some pots that I used last year both indoor and outdoor
I’m wondering if I can just reuse the soil that’s in them - the indoor ones are dried out and the outside ones are wet and full of bugs and weeds

on a daily basis we end up with a lot of coffee grounds and egg shells , I also have a lot of wood ash left over from the fire
can I add these to the soil along with some liquid fertilizer or the like?

Any tips for me? Also Are Apple/potato peels any use to a garden without making a full blown compost bin

thanks :)

I cover my raised beds with weed resistant membrane. You could use old carpet, plastic sheet or even cardboard. This helps stop weeds growing in them and keeps cats off.
What sort of bugs are in your outdoor containers?
I'd mix all the used soil together, add some fresh compost and a bit of organic feed. I use fish, blood and bone meal which is cheap. It is smelly, the good news is that squirrels don't like it, but bad news is that foxes do.
You can put coffee grounds and eggshell around plants to deter snails but I wouldn't put veg peelings into the garden unless I'd composted them first.
You can get small compost bins, or make a small heap, or even set up a wormery. Home-brewed compost is brilliant, but it does take time and some work.

Thanks for the reply :)
the bugs are Mostly slugs , worms and wood lice and a few snails
I’m assuming the worms are good to have

I’ll try a small compost bin and see how it goes

Generally speaking I top up pots with 3 - 4 inches of new compost, having mixed in some slow release fertiliser with the older compost. Works for me.

I have a coffee shop and I’ve found that a lot of plants don’t like too many coffee granules, so be careful with those.

id be inclined to mix in some horse manure or a bag of compost.
