My aloe vera is flowering

As per the title my aloe Vera I have had for a couple of years is flowering. I am wondering how unusual this is in the UK in a cold draughty old house.

It's clearly very happy and I've had to re pot it a few times and it now has grandchildren. I can't keep up with all the babies 🤪

However the person who gave it to me has had them for years and they have never flowered.

Anyone else with random winter flowering aloes

Scented flowers are often trying to attract moths, particularly if they’re also white or pale violet. Bright orangey red flowers with long throats, like some of the aloe/Haworthia type things, are often bird-pollinated, which is why we don’t have many native plants with bright orangey red flowers. Anything pollinating @jackles’s plant is going yo have a very long tongue.

As promised here is a photo in bloom. Looks the same as @jackles

Annoyingly the lower flowers would die before higher ones bloomed so it was never out all at once.
