Can anybody explain why the other (annoying) way was a good thing, what benefit does it have?

So you can see what the thread is about without having to open it. In theory would be good in AIBU, but the being able to see only about 3 posts outweighs the advantage

And lots of complaints in Site Stuff too! I hope MNHQ take note. We don’t like it!

I don't like it either and have switched back to classic view.

Oh okay. I can see two lines but they are usually confirming the title of the thread, which in this section usually has a very good explanation in it anyway. Unlike aibu which is usually very unhelpful with their titles, ie is it me?!

Agree that the new format is irritating, but even more irritating that you have to toggle back to the old EVERY time you look at it!

Change it in your profile settings, @zebette. No more toggling.
