I have put in some carrots and onion sets today, just wondering what everyone else has done?

18 varieties of tomatoes, peppers, chillis, squash, cucumber, courgette, pumpkin, swiss chard, spinach, black kale, purple sprouting brocolli, beetroot indoors. broadbeans.

potatoes, onion, garlic in the allotment.

chillis can take up to 120 days to appear ! dont overwater or the seeds will rot.

...nothing outside except broadbeans.
Chilli, tomatoes, herbs and cabbages inside.
Plus salads...

Yes we planted some cress today on a bit of damp kitchen paper ....

Still waiting for the first nice gardening day before I get any stuff in the ground.

Only my garlic outside. I have some chives and coriander in the airing cupboard waiting to germinate, and some potatoes chitting in our cold spare room. I should get some tomatoes and salad leaves going inside but haven't been motivated enough.

I was planning to grow my carrots in compost mixed with sand just as pixel said.

aquababe · 25/03/2008 17:04

my veg has mostly been banished outside so I fear I've lost my carrots, radishes and lettuce. managed to sneak my tomatoes and peppers into the conservatory under the guise that they are currently in fancy pots (along with some herbs.)

I also have cress which my dd looks after. been trying to do beansprouts but my second attempt has gone wrong too.
I soak them over night but don't seem to be able to remember to wash them morn and evening the first lot went mouldy as I'd noit dried them well enough.
any tips
They are the sunflower variety

Hi, can I join? Im new to this board!

I have got lettice, rocket and some herbs in the greenhouse in trays. the lettice is coming through now, must be about an inch in height, when do I replant it and what do I do with it?!

yogabird · 26/03/2008 21:10

bettythebuilder, the mint has reared its head again this week - you were right! We got free seeds from Rosemoor the other week too, it was fab but damp on the day, now looking at my free seeds and smiling

I've planted some more chillis (2 types) and a couple of varieties of capsicums today.

The beans and peas dd and I grew in jamjars with wet kitchen paper in have done incredibly well- I am stunned. Hurrah for the Usborne book of 'things to do' for that idea I've potted those up today, too, as they were outgrowing their jam jars!
