Have my mange tout finished?

Stupid question.

I did two successional plantings 3 weeks apart, way back in whenever. The last 3 weeks we’ve had tons of the things - a bowl a day for the last week alone. Picking this morning I can see no new flowers on the plants at all - so do I assume it’s now done?

i only ask as it’s like a triffid! I didn’t expect them to be so big. So wondering if I now free up some space or if they’ll have further flowerings?

thanks !

TThey do come to a natural end even if you keep picking. I’d give them a week to see if they restart. I usually leave mine till the vine dies

Sorry - hijacking your thread to ask a related question! I’ve grown peas (mange tout and sugar snap) for the first time. They’ve been doing well but now a couple of the plants have lost their green colour and turned pale. Is that a natural end of life thing or because I haven’t been caring for them enough?

If they’re still green at the tips, they’ve still got life in them. But yes, they do pack up eventually. That’s why you are recommended to sow in succession. You could try feeding them if they’re still green at the tips, but if they’re in the ground they should be capable of getting all the nutrient they need by themselves.
