Ready to plant shrubs and plants - delivery this week!

We lost control of our garden and just had some people in to do a clear out.

I’d like to plant some plants in the now-bare beds, just for some colour and to make everything look a bit nicer.

Any recommendations of companies where I could order online for delivery this week?

Thanks!

The RHS website can be good. If you've got a particular plant in mind they'll flag suppliers including those that deliver as well as giving you information so you know if it's suitable for the space.

I've just had the J Parkers catalogue delivered 😍so many pretty plants. Although, like pictures on seed packets, it's Instagram for plants. They do deliver but I've got a nursery near me so I've never used it for plants and they sent me the wrong seed potatoes!

How exciting! Plenty of companies you can order online from and I've used all of the following previously: Suttons, J Parker, Thompson & Morgan, Amazon, YouGarden and Hayloft. Crocus are good but a bit pricier.

Have fun 😀

You might want to do some improving of the soil - so get some manure and/or soil improver delivered.

Also anything you plant now will need a lot of watering in and watered well till it's established - they can dry out over the winter too unless it's a very wet winter.

Autumn is a better time to plant stuff....

Also if you have a lot of bare soil - you are just about in time to scatter round some wildflower seeds for a bit of a display in the gaps! It'll look beautiful in a couple of months.

I can recommend gardenonaroll. I bought from here last year - the plants are on average around 3 litre pot size. It will give you some cover and colour straight away and will fill out within 12 months.

I had a shady border and a sunny one.

Ordering online usually means much smaller plants than you really want. Worth going to a garden centre to get a few shrubs and perennials before you order online.
