When to plant perennial plugs out

Hi got a load of plug plants cheap earlier this year and have been growing them on, just wondering if I should wait till autumn to put them in their position or cani do it now ? Theyre about 15 cm high now.

Not really sure what to do!

If they have good roots, you can do it now but the issue will be watering over the summer. If they are in a group of pots at the moment you can easily keep an eye on them and water the, as needed. Once they are spread around the garden it’s easier to miss some or forget.

Good point, they're going in the front garden too so potentially more likely to forget to water...

What kind of plants?

I've had this dilemma too. I've actually planted out several already which were smaller than yours, and most of them are doing ok so far 🤞

Hi, I actually planted some out today , the ones I don't care too much about! It was one of those Gardenner's world Sutton's offers , 6 plants of 6 different perennials... Only had to pay for postage. Rudbeckia, Achillea, echnicacea, coreopsis and Dianthus. Wouldnt have ever chose Dianthus but have checked them in a bare bit today to see how they do.

I want to put the echnicacea and Achillea in the front garden but not sure they'll flower this year anyway now?
