I have been given one of these, and it's beautiful, but I'm wondering if I need to put it in a pot?

Excuse the bin 😀

Isn't it in a pot inside the hessian bag?

A big pot, or plant in a border if you've got a big enough space.

It is, but I thought it may outgrow it. I may be overthinking it as I have only had the bushy type before.

Is it a specific type (I can't find any reference to 'hydrangea singolo' except this thread!) or just a young single stemmed plant grown with one massive bloom?

I'd put in in the garden in a spot that gets good sun and rain - ie. not covered/sheltered by trees.

If you do go for a pot, make it a big one as hydrangeas are notoriously thirsty. ( I have killed 2 in pots)😫

Ahhh, I see, I thought it might be loose in the bag. I'd put in into the garden if you have one, or a big pot if not. Hydrangeas don't like to be in full, hot sun as their leaves scorch. A partially shady spot is best.

Hi there, how do you look after this plant after it's time is up?.
TIA Jack.

That's a reasonable size pot for it at the moment so I'd probably move it somewhere a bit shadier and keep it watered and fed. Usual advice is to leave the flowerhead until next year after all the frosts as it protects the new leaves, though I don't know if that applies to a small plant with such a big bloom.

If/when the roots fill the pot, either move it to a larger one or plant it out in the garden if you've got a space where you want that sort of hydrangea. If I had one like that now I'd probably see if a friend wanted it as I've got enough hydrangeas already!
