Erica dried out - Am I too late?

Hi all. My Erica is looking dried out and crispy since planting out. I’m watering daily to try and revive it. It looks a bit more green and healthy underneath. Can it be saved? Any tips? Thank you

It's still alive, but ericas like it in acidic soil, and if not, rainwater. If it sulks, then either/both conditions are not suitable for it. Cut away any dried-up/brown bits of foliage to tidy it up a bit.

Thank you! Do you think I should get some ericaceous compost to dig in around it?

How much water are you giving it? The soil needs to stay moist while it's establishing. I've just almost killed a thyme by not watering it enough after planting. Calluna and Daboecia need an acid soil but Erica carnea can cope with a neutral soil.

I’d say a good soak each evening but today I gave it morning and evening. It’s that type 🤔 it’s on a slope in a rockery so maybe water is running away from it too much. There are other mini heathers nearby which are doing well though. Also we’ve had very hot weather for a week now.

Water running away is a definite possibility.

I’d also erect a temporary sunshade for it
