Growing oleander from cuttings

I took some Oleander cuttings last autumn and they have rooted in pots.
Thing is, I don't know how big it gets.
I actually took them from a neighbours plant (with permission) which they had grown like small trees.
But looking online, it seems to grow in a big mound. I don't really want a tree and want a mound.

They do generally grow as a shrub. As they get bigger you can either trim the top to keep it as a mound or remove the lower branches which will turn it into a tree.

Be very, very careful with the plants. Always wash your hands after touching any part of it. Keep it well away from children and pets and do not under any circumstances burn it. The fumes can cause hallucinations and death.
Oleander is one of the most poisonous plants on the planet😱

Cripes, I'm glad you told me that, but should be fine as no young children around. Hopefully cats will keep away too.
A shrub it will be then. Thanks for the reply.

They can get to 3m tall depending on the variety, so not a tiny shrub!

I don't have kids, but would never grow it due to the toxic nature and am unsure why people do grow it? Especially when there are so many other shrubs with nicer leaves and flowers and FAR safer- IMHO.

In addition to never burning it, when you trim it- the sap has toxic effects on the skin- so wear protective, gauntlet length gloves, long sleeves/trousers and facial protection!

Many years ago I took a holiday on one of the Canary Islands, I think Fuerta Ventura. They had oleander growing alongside many of the roads. We were told because it was so toxic it kept the goats away from the traffic. The bushes were massive and covered with flowers. There were lots of goats. And naked Germans 😠

People in the UK make a very big fuss about oleander's toxicity. It is a staple in mediterranean areas, and really not a big deal. Foxgloves are incredibly toxic too. Just don't eat them!

To answer the OP's question, you can keep it to pretty much any size you want by pruning it. They don't like to be too wet and hate wet cold, but outside of that they are fairly bullet proof, they are grown along the motorways in southern Europe!
