Website for trees

I’m wanting to order a magnolia tree and a weeping willow. Can anyone suggest a good site to order them. Ideally not ridiculously expensive, but reasonable plants.

B&Q probably have weeping willows and magnolias.
Otherwise J.Parkers sell both, and I've had nice stuff from there.

Unless you have a huge garden, I'd not get either of those.
I'd get a weeping ornamental cherry or pussy willow, and get a dwarf magnolia.
Willows will seek water, so are likely to seek out your, or your neighbours', drains, IIRC.
Magnolias dislike dry soil.
I had a look at Parkers and they haven't any willows in stock.

https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/nurseries-search-result for more interesting specialist nurseries. I agree with PP, weeping willows can be a nightmare in a domestic garden. There are billions of magnolias to choose from, it's worth finding a specialist supplier to get you exactly the right one for your garden.

We have a small holding. The weeping willow will be going where my horse was buried in her field, and the magnolia in a corner of the garden, but it’s a big garden.

Sorry, I didn’t say thank you.

You are more than welcome @Honeyroar.
I wish I had a bigger garden.

Sorry about your horse. I'm not a fan of weeping willows, but I have a magnolia.
I'd probably grow a cherry or walnut tree instead, but that's me.

I bought my trees from Barcham tree nursery. They were excellent. The website is encylopedic. They will also give full answers to email questions.

I planted a red acer when I buried her ashes, but it hasn’t come back after winter. I think that the ground is possibly too wet, hence thinking of a weeping willow..

The magnolia is in memory of my dad. He was in a band called magnolia in the 80s. But it’s hard to know which magnolia to choose. Are they all pretty hardy? We’re in the Pennines and exposed to all kinds of weather.

I love your choice of trees, and the reasons for them. I like Ashridge nurseries for trees. If you could bear to wait until autumn, you would find it easy to source a bare-root weeping willow sapling, which would be small, but also cheap and well-suited to establishing.

Magnolias are hardy, but they don't like to be too exposed, and IME they can be a bit susceptible to low temperatures/drying out when they're young. Once established they are bomb-proof! What colours do you like best? There are some absolutely gorgeous ones out there.

Thanks. I’ll try a bit of the garden less exposed then. I like yellows and reds, but dad liked purple, so that might be appropriate.

How weird. I ordered a magnolia and it arrived. Then I noticed a tree with the same leaves in a pot. It’s a pot that’s too small for it, like they often send them in. So I think my dad might have ordered himself a magnolia last summer, just before he collapsed and ended up in hospital. So he will now have two in his memory. I’ve only just got round to sorting his garden out now the weather is better.
