Agapanthus advice

Agapanthus has been in this pot for several years, and always gives the most amazing display of flowers.
I thought the hard frost in the winter had killed it but the green stems? roots? at the centre gave me some hope… and now it has a couple of shoots that appeared this week, hopefully visible in the photo!
Should I leave well alone, or should I try to repot it & get rid of some of the dead stuff now before it really gets going?

Can't advise, but you give me some hope for mine, which also suffered badly this winter.

I'd report it now, tbh. It looks rammed in that pot and there is a crack running down one side. Aggies like a bit of a squeeze but there comes a point where they need space again. Lift, divide and cut off the deader areas. Repot the bits with growth.

Thank you @AFishCalledKeith I’ll get on with repotting it. And fingers crossed for you @BlueChampagne !

Get it out of that pot. I had one like that, it split the pot and was a ball of roots all wrapped round and so hard to separate. Good luck 🤞

I repotted mine last autumn.

CosmosQueen · 15/05/2023 16:56

Sadly mine had turned to mush so definitely dead ☹️
I do have one in a border but I am not particularly optimistic about it’s chances of surviving the winter and no signs of any shoots.

My greenhouse overwintered ones have shoots, my side one doesn’t yet, but the corm is still solid, so I’m hoping. It’s been cold temps for spring.

Update, the greenhouse overwintered ones are outside now and fine. The one that’s been outside all winter is showing no signs of green, but the Rhizomes above the soil are still solid. I’m away till Thursday then I’ll remove it from the pot to see what’s going on. Does anyone think it will still sprout?

I've got leaves but no sign of any flower stems ...... the green is some sign of life on yours so fingers crossed the repotting helps revive too.
