Are there any climbers which do well in shade?

We have a Victorian terrace and the front of the house has a north facing aspect. I would really love to have something which can climb and I could train up the front of the house a bit, and over the bay window/front door.

The ideal would be a wisteria, but I'd be happy with anything which is vaguely traditional (Jasmine, climbing roses etc etc).

Is there any hope I can achieve this?!

Our front door is to the right of the bay window and the patch between the bay and the door is very shady. The left of the bay does get some morning sun so at a push I could pop something over that side.

Thank you!

Yes but not wisteria or roses.
Pileostegia will do well, is evergreen and self clinging and looks a bit exotic (currently doing well on the front of my Victorian house, facing North).
Hydrangea petiolaris is another, not evergreen but a good climber on a North wall

ivy is an obvious one.

I have a honeysuckle on a north facing wall, which doesn't lose its leaves over winter...not sure the variety, but it has small flowers which smell lovely inb the evening

Climbing hydrangea would do well

climbing hydrangea, it takes a long time to get going though.

Claire Austin rose might do well
as well.

and ivy. No idea why it’s so hated, it’s a lovely plant.

I came on to say climbing hydrangia too or honeysuckle or Virginia creeper.

We have Clare Austen rose on north facing wall. It’s vigorous, disease free, white and beautifully scented, highly recommended. I think wisteria likes sun. Honeysuckle grows in woods so definitely fine in shade. Climbing hydrangea also fine.

How about a North facing wall and deep shade, ie under a giant fur? Would a hydrangea do OK there? Daffodils survive, but not much else.

Climbing hydrangea is gorgeous but will take years to cover a wall (I bought large ones and this is their third year - only just starting to cling and climb). I once had a purple solanum that did fine in the shade and was beautiful but they're poisonous so depends on kids/dogs etc.

Ivy by nature will destroy the pointing and brickwork. Virginia creeper is less likely to.

Climbing rose, scented, perfect for north facing walls.

Vinca (periwinkle) would work - we have if and it’s pretty
