Help me choose a climber

Hi all

I have this arch to cover which I want to look quite full, Ideally I'd need the climber to be evergreen so there is coverage in winter but not ivy. I love the idea of Clematis Montana but winter it will just be a brown mess

Thank you

I have honeysuckle climbing one arch which seems to do well every year.
Last year I grew a passion flower up another and it went crazy, every day new growth and flowers.Sadly it didnt survive this winter's frost so will get another. It flowered till the autumn so was lovely.

Try a Freckles clematis, which flowers autumn/winter for me, plus an armandii, which is evergreen.

I would avoid clematis over an arch as they are not good to look at lower down, other than a few of the evergreen types, armandii is too big and often woody at the base (good for scrambling through trees).
I agree on Trachelospermum though its quite woody.
I would suggest a couple of small climbing roses, some are nearly evergreen. Look at Peter Beales or Trevor White for ideas/info.

What about Akebia quinata (chocolate vine) which is semi-evergreen? It is evergreen in my garden in the East. It can be a bit rampant but the flowers are lovely and the leaves very attractive.

I have honeysuckle on similar arch. Not evergreen but grows vigorously, comes into leaf early and is native.
