Lupin drooping after transplanting any hope?

I moved a Lupin yesterday and took some cuttings, one of the gardening sites said now is better than waiting until autumn.

The main one in the ground is now wilting. I watered it when i replanted it yesterday. It looked fine last night but today it’s dropped quite a lot. Most other plants I’ve moved tend to droop straight away and perk up the next day.

I dug out a good chunk of the root with it but I’m not sure if it was enough. Is there a chance it’ll survive or shall I just buy a new one (while it’s on offer at b&q…)

If there are roots it should recover. There is a lot of leaves - if you stop their water supply by pulling up the plant they are going to wilt. But you’ve only got one plant - I’d buy some more anyway.

Keep the foliage and the soil around it damp, and the humidity will help. Can you remove some of the larger leaves? It is struggling to maintain water supply to the leaves at the moment, so if you remove some then it will help a bit.

Thanks I will remove some of the leaves.

I found a load of seedlings, after posting so I should have plenty more to come, but I do hope this one survives.
