Following on from another thread wondering if I should give up and replace.

I've revived a few things just by cutting them back hard and putting them in a cold frame. And not watering too much - my favorite method of killing plants.

Went out and had a proper look, there’s buds just starting on some of them.

Mine is sulking after being transplanted last autumn from a friend's garden where it grew like weeds. About a quarter of a mile away, same soil, etc. Not exactly dead but not showing any enthusiasm for life either.

They are like weeds in my garden, I keep them in one bed but pull out the rest. Still at the pretending to be dead stage.

Mine are sticks too, could be dead as I only planted it last year, so it might not have been strong enough to survive last winter.

Mine are 12-18 inches tall, most of that growth was in the last two weeks.

I take mine back to the ground each year as it's like a bloody triffid in my garden.

I don't get flowers until June at the earliest and it's still 6/7 foot high by the end of the summer!

A gardener at a National Trust property told me the other day that you can just cut off the top when they get to the height you want and they'll bush out instead of shoot up. I'm going to try it this year
