How do I salvage my Lawnmower

I pulled my electric lawnmower out if the shed today to find that the shed has leaked and the would up cable and plug (which was in a plastic bag) is full of water. I’ve put it outside in the sun to try and dry out but fear it’s buggered. Don’t particularly want to plug it in and blow myself up. Everything else seems dry! Any ideas or will I need to replace the plug?

Try putting it in a bag of rice for a couple of weeks. Or a bag of those granules used to keep things dry.

Actually, if you can get at the plug and have the capability to do so, then dismantling it and drying every bit separately would be easier.

Then you have to ask yourself whether the cable getting wet is a problem.

Note I am not an electrician and I am not saying the mower will be safe to use after this.

Do you have a Repair Café near you, where you can ask them to look at the mower and PAT test it (or something like that).

As @senua says get.it inspected and PAT tested...and always use with a residual current device (RCD)

I took it to be looked at and remarkably the plug was fine, apparently there is a membrane/ seal inside the plug protecting the fuse and wires. It did well. Thanks everyone, first cut done and little green footprints everywhere (thank you ddog).
