What have you got your strawberries in, are those terracotta strawberry pots any good?

Mine are in a planter I want to put something else in. Thinking of alternatives.

No, there isn't enough room/compost for them to grow well. I have several and don't use them for strawberries. I tried two years running.

Same as PP, I now use my strawberry pots to grow trailing herbs and my strawberries are in the ground.

I would try a long wing trough style planter if they can't go in the ground.

A friend of mine used a large bin with holes cut out of the sides and then plants the strawberries through the holes and in the top. It works really well but it depends how attractive you want it to look..

I over ordered plugs this year. I have a trug full, in the ground, hanging basket and considering buying a tall plastic laundry basket with the big holes in, lining it and sticking plants through the holes.

Mine are in an old leaky waterbutt with holes drilled in the sides. It works okay but the ones lower down struggle to get water. When I redo it I'll add a watering tube (washing machine hose with holes drilled in) to help water get to the lower levels

I had one of those terracotta strawberry planters. It constantly dried out. The plants really struggled and never got going. Note that a pp said that she had herbs - which like dry conditions - in hers.

I have heard of people growing strawberries in lengths of guttering, raised off the ground, but I'm not sure that that gets enough depth of soil. You can get square guttering (instead of half-round) so that might work better.

I’ve now got herbs and alpines in mine. They grow well, but I did buy a piece of 2 1/2 inch pipe and put a cut length with plenty of holes drilled in it, put in on as much of an angle as I could manage in the pot. Everything gets water that way without washing the compost out of the small holes. Looks better after a couple of years as the plants have all but covered it up.

I’ve got some in this Stackable planter from Lidl - but they’ve only gone in in the past few weeks so I’ll see how it goes. My other ones are just in regular black plastic plant pots - some round and one trough shaped.
