Anyone experienced with container roses?

I'm considering how I can brighten up the front of my house. I like the idea of growing something against the bottom section of the house, the issue is it would need to be in a container as our driveway goes right up to the house, so no option to plant directly into the ground.

I've been reading that roses can do well in containers, but it's not something I've tried before. What sort of containers ar good for them? I'm guessing most varieties will need a decent amount of depth to thrive. If anyone can point me to a specific variety they have successfully grown in a pot and can give me an idea of the dimensions and material of the container that would be great.

TIA

A climber won't be happy for long in a pot....even a really big pot. Is there any way you can lever up a bit of driveway? And then put a bottomless pot on so the roots can reach the ground?

If not then just get the biggest pot you can fit in the spot and give it a try.

I do have roses in containers, a couple are climbers but they are very small ones so won't get terribly high - and are in big containers. the other roses are roses that do well in (big) pots but aren't climbers.

Should have clarified, I'm not looking for a climber as I know the long roots won't be happy long term in a pot. More a shrub rose or similar which will grow a couple of feet or so. Basically looking for it to sit nicely around the height of the downstairs window ledge and cover up some of the ugly painted brickwork on the bottom section of my house. So it wouldn't need to be a tall grower once I factor in the depth of the pot.

I see, I've got a Roald Dahl from David Austin that is doing really well in a big pot for a few years now. eu.davidaustinroses.com/products/roald-dahl

The pot is about 2 foot across and a bit deeper than that. I might pot it on this year. But I feed it twice a year and it seems happy. I've also got a carpet rose in a slightly smaller pot that flowered beautifully for much of last year. But that doesn't get much height.
