Has anyone got any recommendations for evergreen bushes that flower? I have some space to fill in my garden, mostly spots that are sunny in the afternoon.

If you go to the RHS plant-finder page and put in 'evergreen' it comes back with 18,094 results.
It might help to narrow the brief a bit!Grin

Hebes, some interesting leaf colour I've got one with reddish leaves.

Cistus, some have green leaves, some are silvery

Some varieties of Magnolia and Daphne are evergreen and absolutely beautiful. Sadly they don't tend to thrive in my chalky soil, but they are great if you have the right conditions. They're quite distinctive plants- look up an image online and if any of your neighbours are growing them chances are they'll probably thrive in your garden too.
More bombproof and tolerant of a wider range of conditions are Sarcococca, Viburnum Tinus and Choisya. Finally, camellias have got a reputation for being a bit fussy, but I've got one in my garden that is very happy, even though it shouldn't really like the conditions I have. It is currently in bud and is absolutely gorgeous when its in flower.

I love our ceanothus, have both blue and white flowering varieties. I have quite a lot of evergreens in my garden and I like them to be good for wildlife if possible (which usually means they have flowers or berries or both!)

You could also look at:

Viburnum tinus
Cotoneaster
Mahonia (likes shade)
Rhododendron (likes acid soil)
Camellia (also likes acid soil)

Lots of herbs are evergreen and have flowers that the bees love....like thyme and rosemary.

Hebes are great for this and super easy

Thanks for all of the suggestions. We have a lovely Ceanothos and thats what's inspired me to find more things like it!

Olearia - tiny holly shaped leaves and white daisy flowers
Cherry laurel when it gets big enough, but the berries are both poisonous and tempting
Bay tree can look quite impressive when covered with its tiny yellow flowers
Not flowers as much, but Abies koreana, Korean Fir, has attractive blue fir cones when it’s still very young
