Any point planting seeds if packet says Sow By 2022?

I have parsley ( never a fast germinator anyway), basil, cucumbers and cabbage seeds which “ expired” in 2022. Am I better off going out and buying new seeds- can get cheap ones at Lidl at the moment, thanks for any advice.

I beg to differ. I find that with the right attention penis's grow very easily.

I sowed some with a similar date a few weeks ago. They've germinated nicely!

@Choconut , don't you find the growth short-lived, especially if there's a cold spell?

If you water the leaves of chilli plants the fruits get hotter. I grew padrons last year and I could have throttled my DP when he cheerily told me how he'd been watering them. They were too hot to eat.

Loving the shoe rack idea, but would not fit on a windowsill (no available fill length window here). This year I have tension bars (3across) across a small window, which turns one level into three. Shame that the only available windows I have are north facing

Parsley, parsnip, carrot are all in the same family, along with dill, coriander, fennel, angelica. The family in general doesn’t have long lasting seeds. The cabbages should be OK, probably the cucumbers, maybe the basil
